Adventures with the Bears | Stitched With Love

Eyes wide open, a smile spread across Bella’s face, full of glee.  

“Is this the one? Is this who you want?” asked Momma. 

“Yes, yes, yes! This is the one. This is my new Pierre!” 

Bella had been asking for her very own stuffy for weeks now but hadn’t fallen in love with the perfect match yet – until she walked in and saw the rainbow knit sock monkey.  

He was exactly what she’d envisioned but couldn’t find him anywhere until that day.

Pierre was attached to Bella from the moment he joined the family. He went on every adventure. She held him close every night while sleeping. He joined every play date. He was her very best friend. You would often hear her whispering to him, and giggling. They had a special bond that she didn’t have with anyone else. 

So, when he started to wear out, Bella was absolutely devastated. His threading was coming apart, his knees were getting weak, and his stuffing was thinning. 

“Did I love him too much?” asked Bella through quivering lips.  

“There’s no such thing as loving anything too much, Bella.” replied Momma, “you loved him the right amount, but now he just needs a little extra love to get him back into shape.” 

Fortunately for Bella, and Pierre, Momma knew just what to do.  

Momma called in the experts and Pierre went on his own little adventure to get fixed.  

It was a long week for Bella. Every day she asked if he was ready to come back home.  

“Not quite yet, Bella Bear, but soon…” 

It was finally time – the day that Pierre was to return home! 

Bella sat by the window, ears perked with every passing car, until Grandma pulled into the driveway.  

She rushed outside, nearly tripping over her own feet, to see her long lost friend. 

His stitching was fixed. His stuffing was restuffed. And he was brought back to life.

Squeezing him tight, she whispered, “I missed you so much… this was the longest week in my entire life” and ran back inside.

Adventures resumed. Cuddles resumed. Her light returned once again.
