Adventures with the Bears | Three Bears, Two Flights, One Big Bed
Written by Keela Garrigues
“Oooh, I am so excited to go on this mini adventure with mommy!” exclaimed Allie to Bella and Zoey, as they ran around gathering their overnight bags while waiting for Grandma to arrive.
“When we get to the hotel tonight, what should we do first? Should we drink hot cocoa? Or maybe make some popcorn? Oooh, or go swimming??? … They do have a pool, right, mommy?” asked Zoey, as she’s stuffing her swimsuit into an already overstuffed bag.
Grandma arrived, and it’s off to the airport! We get to take two flights to get to Bend, so mommy made sure we had plenty of books to read while on the plane.
The first flight was short, so we only got to read one book, but it was our favorite – Curious George!
“Momma, I wish we could climb out and jump on all the clouds, they look so fluffy”, said Bella as she gazed adoringly out the window.
After eating dinner at the Seattle airport, we boarded our next flight. One down, one to go!
“Mommy, you got us our very own seat?!” asked Zoey in utter shock, as the doors closed, and no one was sitting next to us.
“We just lucked out, Zoey bear, how cool is that?” replied mommy, as she got us all settled in.
“I’m pretty sure mommy surprised us, we are the luckiest bears”, Zoey whispered to Allie and Bella as they got comfy in their seat.
This flight was longer, so we got to read three books this time. The flight attendant even came by and gave us our own bottles of water to stay hydrated during our travels.
After a long day of travels, we met up with Daddy and made our way to the hotel. The nice lady that drove us to the hotel from the airport told us all about her dogs and how much we reminded her of her grandchildren. That must be because we were so well behaved in the car.
“This is the biggest bed I’ve ever seen!” squealed an out-of-breath Allie, between bounces, “I wish we could stay her forever!”
Bella and mommy went downstairs to the lobby to make some hot cocoa for everyone, while Zoey stayed upstairs with Allie and Daddy to make popcorn.
The next morning, it was time to return home, but not before going for a swim!
“Momma, come in and play with us, the water feels really good!” begged Bella.
After paws were shriveled, the car was loaded up and we hit the road.
While a four-hour car ride home may seem like a long time to some, we absolutely loved watching the world go by – at least the two of us that stayed awake for it all.
“Mommy, I can’t believe it’s still snowing in March!” yelled out Zoey gleefully, while Allie was fading off into a slumber in the back seat.
We saw everything from snow, to rain, to sunny skies, and horses, cows and chickens. Living in Oregon brings out all the seasons and all the animals, in such a short distance.
Back home and unpacked, the bears start to plan their next adventure…
